Varietals

Gewürtztraminer

Believed to be related to the Viognier grape, this variety is cultivated in very high and cold regions, where a few (although successful) white wines are produced in dryer and sweeter versions.

Gewürz or Traminer, is a grape variety that performs best in cooler climates. It is known for its spicy characteristics, hence the name which literally means "Spice Traminer" and is derived from the grape being a highly aromatic variant of its parent, called the Traminer.

Under the right conditions, these wines present a personal bouquet and a solid body, without ever compromising freshness, thanks to their naturally high acidity. The bouquets these wines most frequently present are floral and citric, and sometimes, certain delicately vegetable and spicy traits.

Tip: This variety is considered as one of these few wines suitable to be enjoyed with curry and other Asian foods it also goes down well with certain cheeses such as Munster and fatty wild game.
