Varietals

Bonarda

Originating in the Savoie region of France where it is known as Corbeau or Douce Noir, the variety also holds strong links to the Dolcetto of the Piedmont region of Italy.

A popular variety amongst the Argentinian wines due to its abundance, vitality, and low cost, this grape has always been seen as part of the less expensive set of red wines in Argentina and is also used in the production of blended varieties.

The variety gives rise to a frank, honest wine, with good body and colour, fruity bouquets of raspberry and subtle anisette traits. The good structure of the wine produced facilitates successful barrel ageing .

Tip: Great with pork, game and medium strength cheeses
